In this talk, we'll delve into the capabilities and potential of AI agents beyond chatbots, explore the following topics: a) The Building Blocks of AI Agents: Memory, tools, and decision-making processes; b) Agent Architectures: Understanding different approaches to agent design; c) LangChain in Action: Building agents with memory, tool integration, and complex workflows; d) LlamaIndex for Information Retrieval: Leveraging powerful indexing and retrieval capabilities; e) Function Calling for Dynamic Interaction: Empowering agents to execute custom functions based on user needs.

Abstract: Using LLMs for grading in higher education is a controversial topic. This topic will explore how this can be done in a way that enjoys the time savings promise of AI, but keeps the human in the loop to ensure accuracy and accountability.
