Tarot History: The Hanged Man

Join us for a talk on the tarot history of the Hanged Man card of the major arcana.

Tamara Wyndham will talk about the development of the imagery and of the interpretation of the card from Renaissance Italy, through the beginnings of modern occultism and then focusing on the Hanged Man as depicted by Lady Frieda Harris and Aleister Crowley in the Thoth deck.
Trigger warning: there will be some brief discussion of hanging upside down as torture.

You may bring your own Hanged Man from your favorite deck for a short meditation. Though we will project on the screen the Hanged Man from the Thoth deck for anyone who didn't bring one.
