About us
Alamo Python is part of the PyTexas network of Python user groups. We are focused at providing in person training and social events to help grow the San Antonio Python community. We are proud to be a part of the DevSA community of San Antonio technology user groups.
We are aiming to have bi-monthly (every 2 months) social meetups and tech talks. These will be in person. Our tech talks will be aimed at getting hands on with coding techniques, tricks, using packages, and cover the gamut of professional, business, hobby, AI, and game programming. We are also hoping to have an extended meeting once per quarter where will will aim to drill deeper into different programming areas.
We have an online presence on the DevSA Discord Server as well as the PyTexas Discord Server. As part of PyTexas, our members will be introduced to the Austin, Houston and DFW Python user groups as well as the annual PyTexas conference.
We are always looking for local speakers so let us know if you would like to present at one of our events.

Topic: Disentangling formatted strings with t-stringsIn October 2025, Python 3.14 was released and with it a cool new way to create t-strings, which promise to help python developers write better, and safer python code. While on the surface, they share a similar name to f-strings, the way we use them is quite different. This talk explores what they are, how they work, who they are for and how they will help python developers write safer code.
