Fall History Walk at Oakwood Cemetery
Details
Pleasant stroll on the east side of this famous National Historic Landmark. We'll visit the graves of a dozen notable citizens of Troy from the 1800s.
I will have a few remarks on each and I hope some of our group members can fill in the blanks with more anecdotes and stories.
Here's a list of the graves I want to visit:
Theophilus Griffith, Emma Willard, Dr. Charles Freiot, The Seated male Angel at the Squires Monument, John Ellis Wool Monument, Robert Ross Memorial, Tibbits Mausoleum, Thalimer Monument, Thompson McConihe Mausoleum, Vail Mausoleum, Uncle Sam's Gravesite, The Soldier's Plot.
It will be a pleasant walk, mostly on pavement and take about two hours.
