Join me on a 3 cemetery walk on All Souls Day, November 2nd. We will start at Forest Park Cemetery, abandoned for many years, "haunted" and containing 2 beautiful structures by Garnet Baltimore, a famous Troy architect.
Then we will go to New Mount Ida cemetery, which in also on Pinewoods Avenue and contains within a historic Jewish Cemetery, Berith Sholom. If time permits we can visit Old Mount Ida Cemetery, a little further down
I have scheduled this Sunday walk at noon so as not to disadvantage church goers.
We will meet at Forest Park Cemetery, Park inside the cemetery before the big entrance gate. It is illegal to park on Pinewoods Ave. I will ask if we can park a few cars inside the cemetery as well and I will arrive early to let everyone know where to park.
I will notify the Rensselaer County Sherrif's Department that we will be parked for up to an hour at Forest Park because the police keep an eye on it as it is closed.
