Hike the Northern Tongue Range, Lake George

Details

To register for this hike, you must email the leader at [dmvanryn@gmail.com](mailto:dmvanryn@gmail.com). Please provide a short description of your recent hiking experience so I can assess your ability to do this hike. I will provide further details via email to registered participants. We will carpool from Clifton Park.

Lovely hike across the northern part of the Tongue range on the western side of Lake George. An out and back hike to Brown, Huckleberry and Five Mile Peaks. If everyone is up for it, we will add a mile at the end to hike out and back to Deer's Leap. Total of 7-8 miles and about 1800' elevation gain. Pace will be moderate, but we will slow down as desired to look at flowers, birds and such. We will stay together as we hike. We proceed somewhat steeply towards Brown Mt, and then have ups and downs and flat areas as we traverse the ridge. Mostly wooded throughout with occasional viewpoints overlooking Lake George. Trails are marked, but we go slightly off trail to arrive at the summits. All three peaks are part of the "Lake George 12ster."

Limited to 12 participants.

This is an ADK sponsored hike. Please see ADK participant responsibilities: https://albany.adk.org/participants-responsibilities/
