THIS IS NOT A MEETUP EVENT.
HOSTED BY THE ALBUQUERQUE ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY & RGNC FOR THE PUBLIC.

On the last day of January 2026, The Albuquerque Astronomical Society and the Rio Grande Nature Center State Park, will co-host a star party from 6:00-10:00pm in the parking area to the right as you enter the park.
A large number of telescopes will be on hand to show the wonders of the New Mexico skies, and a Fab Fifty Winter Session talk by James Carr in the Education Room at 6:15pm will tell you what you will be seeing this season through those scopes.
Sunset will be at 5:27pm. Visible will be the Moon at waxing gibbous stage, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

This is a lovely venue for our star party, and you are encouraged to visit it often for its views of wetlands and the mountains and for the Visitor Center with many displays

A parking fee of $5.00 (cash only and please have exact change) will be collected as you enter to help fund the RGNC and its events. Please use only red lights in the observing area to preserve night vision for all and dress for the season. Restrooms and water fountain are available in the Education Building.
