
What we’re about
Startup coming September - new Book Discussion Group- will start meeting after we have enough members. Plan to meet once a month - probably Sunday Afternoon (3-5pm) and/or Thursday night (7-9pm). We will be alternating longer and shorter books, modern and classic. World literature wont be excluded but translations need to readable. Location: possibly a library or community center in north-east Albuquerque or an apartment in NE Albuquerque. Cost $2? /meeting. or $1?/ for regular members.
No preferred age limit.
Rules 1. Every attendee must read book in entirety
2. Discussion limited mostly to book being discussed.
Format: 1 moderator to facilitate discussion.

Stories of Your Life (Chiang), My Brilliant Friend (Ferrante), Scanner Darkly (Phillip Dick), American Pastoral (Roth), Magus (Fowles) ,
Kafka Short Stories, Conrad Short Stories. Steppenwolf (Hesse), Gullivers Travels (Swift), Canterbury Tales (olde English) , Ulysses, Master and Margarita, Moby Dick, Sound and Fury, Tagore (poems) , Women in Love, Republic (Plato), Inferno (Dante).

We will discuss the book on the grass under a shady tree. Look for the area close to the picnic tables on the south corner.
This will be our first book and hope it sets the tone. I will be using the translation by Theo Cuffe. Feel free to use another translation. This is one of the few books that maybe impossible to dislike.
