Annual Rio Rancho Pooch Plunge

This event is for dog owners, only. At the end of summer, Rio Rancho opens Haynes Pool to dogs for one Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm.

The pool is open to friendly, fully vaccinated dogs. You have to bring proof of vaccination for your dog. If you don't have a dog, this is a great event to find a new furry family member. Please see the link for the full description. There is a large parking lot to the north by a church that was open for parking 2 years ago.

I will be going with my water-loving almost 14-year-old dog Opal. It is the highlight of her year. I usually go on my own and meet other dog owners I know from the local dog parks inside. It is an extremely friendly event. I will be in line by 10 am and most likely leave around noon. Feel free to meet and Opal there or enjoy a great day with your dog enjoying the pool on your own.
