Cienega Trail #148
Details
This will be a 4.2 mile hike passing through a grassy meadow and along a beautiful streambed. We will be climbing and will gain about 1,735 feet in elevation. There are some steep and rocky sections, but once we reach the top the view is worth it.
We will meet at the Cienega Trail parking area. Directions: Take Sandia Crest Road and turn onto Forest Road 190. You will pass the Cienega Horse Bypass and follow the road to the Cienega Trail parking area.
Remember to dress in layers because we will have a chilly start, but will quickly warm up once we start climbing. Bring water, electrolytes, and snacks.
