Abstract:
Curious about building your own IDE extensions? In this talk, I’ll walk through the process our team at Confluent took to build one for Microsoft's popular IDE, VSCode — from setting up a new extension to working with their API and tackling common challenges. I’ll also share insights from open-sourcing our extension, including lessons learned and best practices. Whether you want to build something to enhance your own development workflow or contribute to the wider community of VSCode users, this session will give you the basics so you can get started.
