About the Talk: Developers need a standardized way for different applications to interact with each other over a network. One well-known option is REST. It is flexible and ubiquitous, but it can also be slow, and it doesn't support strong contracts between client and server. Can we do better? gRPC is Google's High-Performance RPC framework. Launched in 2015, it provides speeds 7-10x faster than REST with strong typing and compile time checks. Sound interesting? In this talk, we'll dive into how to implement gRPC in C#.
About the Speaker: Richard Bennett is a software engineer and C# expert from Albuquerque who has been building high-performance applications and leading development teams for over two decades. He earned his degree in Computer Science from the University of New Mexico and his background spans everything from defense simulation systems to biotech applications, giving him a unique perspective on when and how to apply different technologies effectively.
