•OnlineGlobe Theatre: Henry IV, Part 1 (2010)
OnlineEngland, 1403. With weak-willed King Richard II dead, ruthless Henry IV is ready to consolidate his power over England. But King Henry has a problem. The royal heir, Prince Henry -- Prince Hal to his friends -- has no interest in chivalry or politics. The rebellious young prince spends his days at the Boar's Head Tavern, learning sin and debauchery from prostitutes and pickpockets. Among the lowly is a fallen nobleman, Sir John Falstaff, whose irreverent outbursts contain serious lessons about war and the price of glory. With rebellion on the rise, can Prince Hal show his true colors, regain his father's respect, and save England from bloody civil war?
The first installment of what is widely acknowledged to be Shakespeare's greatest historical saga, King Henry IV Part 1 is an epic tale of power,
treachery and war, exploring the complexity of father-son relationships. Featuring an Olivier Award-winning performance from Roger Allam as Falstaff, the comical mentor to Jamie Parker's prince Hal, this celebrated and authentic production - expertly directed by Dominic Dromgoole - presents this classic play in all its glory.

•OnlineThe Hollow Crown: Henry IV, Part 1 (2013)
Online1403: Henry IV finds himself facing uprisings from the Welsh chieftain Owen Glendower and impetuous young Harry "Hotspur" Percy, son of Henry Percy, Earl of Northumberland, angry with the king for not paying Glendower ransom for his brother-in-law Mortimer. Another trial for Henry is the fact that his son, Prince Hal, keeps company with the older, reprobate drunkard Sir John Falstaff. Though the prince is his friend he is not above playing cruel jests on Falstaff, robbing him in disguise and returning his money after Falstaff has given an exaggerated account of his bravery in the hold-up. However, Hal joins his father at the wintry battle of Shrewsbury to put down Hotspur's revolt, where Hal kills Hotspur in single combat - Falstaff later claiming credit for the deed. Hotspur is routed but Henry and Hal still have to face the uprisings of Glendower and Nortumberland, now joined by the archbishop of York.
"The Hollow Crown: Henry IV, Part 1" is a television adaptation of Shakespeare's play, directed by Richard Eyre and featuring Jeremy Irons as King Henry IV and Tom Hiddleston as Prince Hal. It focuses on the themes of kingship, rebellion, and the complex relationship between father and son.
