In Sophocles' classic Greek play, Antigone, a young woman defies her king to bury her fallen brother. Her twin brothers killed each other in a civil war for Thebes. The new king, Creon, gives one brother a hero's funeral but bans the burial of the other, labeling him a traitor. Antigone chooses family duty and divine law over human law and faces a tragic end.
