What do we do at a WordPress Work Along?

We're a group of people who've been working with WordPress for quite a well and we love helping people learn about WordPress, get questions answered and see what interesting things people are doing with it. Come join us, we're friendly and always willing to help.

This month we'll have a short presentation (about 15~20 minutes) by the Noventum team about adding a scanner to a WordPress Woocommerce website and how it helped the customer's work flow, here's a short description of the talk.

Pavel and Brian from Noventum will present on the barcode scanner plugin they customized for their customer - Wisdom of the Earth - an essential oil wholesaler and retailer. The customer wanted to use their WooCommerce store in a point-of-sale fashion, and the customization we came up with allowed them to do this. There were numerous technical challenges associated with expanding an Angular-app-bundled-as-a-WordPress plugin, as well as providing the author with code in a way that they will maintain. There were also business challenges associated with changing a store's workflow, and getting them to adopt this new way of doing things.
