Hike: In Search of the W&OD in Alexandria (snow and ice version)

Details
This snowy hike will take us on a search for the remnants of the Washington and Old Dominion Trail in Alexandria. We are doing this instead of a bike ride this week. We re-scheduled the bike ride version of this tour for March 7.
The bike-ride version of this is here: https://www.meetup.com/Alexandria-Biking-and-Walking/events/220626696/
There is enough of this trail left that one could imagine a trail/road biking and walking route parallel to West Glebe including trail sections and Tennessee Ave. Probably not realistic, but nice to think about. One section, less than a mile, will in the natural setting of Mt Jefferson Park. If the wood-chip-paved dirt path is totally iced over we will consider an alternate route.
We will stop often to point out where the W&OD railroad once delivered passengers to St Elmo and Alexandria Junction. We should get back to Del Ray in time to warm up at St Elmos or some other such place for a snack or lunch.
The 3-mile route (more or less): http://goo.gl/jwqg4B
Date: Saturday February 21, 10 am - Noon
Location: Velocity Bike Co-op, 2111 Mt Vernon Ave, 22301
Cost: There is no cost to attend.
Bring: A sense of adventure.
This hike will go ahead unless rain is expected.
