About us
This is a group for playing a variety of modern board games. Feel free to come empty-handed as I will bring my copy of the scheduled game. Each event will be limited attendance based on how many people can play each game.

Terraforming Mars - Limited to 8 players
Charles E. Beatley, Jr. Central Library, 5005 Duke St, Alexandria, VA, USWe will be playing two games of Terraforming Mars with up to 4 players each. All experience levels welcome. Expect the game teach to start promptly within the first 10 minutes. I am going to try a new waitlist method in February. ONLY THE FIRST 8 PLAYERS ARE RSVP’D TO THIS EVENT. All others are on the waitlist.
In Terraforming Mars, you control a corporation, and you buy and play cards describing different projects. The projects often directly or indirectly contribute to the terraforming process, but can also consist of business enterprises of different kinds. In order to win, you have to accumulate a good terraform rating (TR) and many victory points (VPs).

Gaia Project - Limited to 8 players

In Gaia Project fourteen different factions live on seven different kinds of planets, each faction being bound to their own home planets. To develop and grow, they must terraform neighboring planets into their home environments in competition with the other groups. All factions can improve their skills in six different areas of development: Terraforming, Navigation, Artificial Intelligence, Gaiaforming, Economy, Research; leading to advanced technology and special bonuses. To do all of that, each group has special skills and abilities.

In Tapestry players create their civilization by choosing how to advance on 4 advancement tracks (science, technology, exploration, and military) to earn progressively better benefits. Along the way, you will also improve your income, build your capital city, leverage your unique abilities, earn victory points, and gain tapestry cards that will tell the story of your civilization. The winner is the player with the most victory points.

In a far-distant future, humans no longer inhabit Earth. One species of the humble honeybee has evolved to fill the void. They grew in size and intelligence to become a highly advanced society. In Apiary, each player controls a unique factions. Through worker-placement players work to build their hive: exploring planets, gathering resources, and developing technologies along the way.
