What we’re about

In 1940, the Alexandria Jaycees were formed for adults aged 21 to 40 to engage in civic opportunities and leadership development. Today, we provide multiple opportunities across the city of Alexandria and the DC metro community to give back to the community, develop new skills and meet new people. We are the second oldest chapter in Virginia, one of the most recognized chapters, and have members from all backgrounds. While working to advance the community and the chapter, members benefit from program participation which enables them to grow as individuals, professionals and citizens.

We invite you to check us out - come to a meeting or join us for an event - so you can meet our members and learn about the Jaycees. Examples of past events include:

• Community service with the city and local organizations

• Leadership development

• Author chats

• Happy hours & socials for networking

• Meeting local business & government leaders

• Fundraisers

• Movie nights and more!

Membership in the Alexandria Jaycees also includes membership in the Virginia Jaycees, the U.S. Junior Chamber, and Junior Chamber International. This membership provides access to training and development opportunities across the state, the country and the world.
