Algorithms Review for Interviews

Hi guys, I'm not exactly sure how this will work since Red Rock can get pretty full and I wasn't planning on the meeting having so many people.

I think what might work is for me to sit on the first floor and help people pair up and each pair then can go wherever they want to practice problems.

If each person brings 1 interview-type problem with solution I think that should be the right amount of time for 1 hour of practice (maybe bring 2 just in case, if you don't have a book with problems I'd do a search on stackoverflow.com or glassdoor.com or google for interview programming questions). The idea is to basically have a mock interview where you ask the other person the question you brought giving small hints if they get stuck and making sure they write out all the code etc. I'm imagining each problem should take about 30 minutes to go through because you're going to be explaining your thought processes as you go along and finding better and better solutions etc.

I'll send an email with my phone number to everyone who is signed up for the meeting already and you can call if you can't find me.

In the future at Hacker Dojo it should be easier to coordinate and share problems.

Hey all,
Thanks for replying, so everyone on this list expressed interest in
practicing problems. It seemed like Hacker Dojo was a potential place
to meet up. I'm not a member there, but if someone else is perhaps
they can reserve a spot for us. Otherwise I can try and think of
another place.

If anyone is interested in meeting up this weekend let me know. I'll
throw out Saturday and Sunday at 4pm just to get something going and
feel free to coordinate and meet up separately. I'm sending this in
kind of a rush, but I'll set up a doodle later tonight so it'll be
easier to see what everyone's schedule is like this weekend (or if
someone else would like to do it, that'd be great too).
