-------
Title: Code generation workflow with Simulink and Embedded Coder.
Description: Simulink could be used for embedded software development. What is the process of developing custom embedded target specific blocks using Simulink?

Title: Building web-based data analytics applications with MATLAB
Description: www.tripcast.nl/hotspots is a web-based application that helps road authorities plan and evaluate speeding enforcement checks. This is done by simultaneously assessing accident risk, road traffic volumes and speed-limit negation. To do this typical 2-3 years of nation-wide accident data and historical traffic data from 10.000+ sensors at a 1 minute resolution are analyzed and aggregated to graphs and map overlays. All of this happens "on the fly" within response times that must not exceed 5 seconds. The resulting application has been launched last fall and has shown a robust 24/7 availability ever since.

The logic of the application has been implemented in Matlab and is highly optimized so that it will deal with large datasets while keeping response times acceptable. To implement the web interface various third party components have been utilized like the Angular framework, Google Maps API, and the ChartJS library. Additional in-house components like interactive map overlays, in RAM data compression and the Modelit webserver toolbox for MATLAB have been used as well.

The tech talk focusses on which reusable building blocks have been implemented and how these have been integrated to an application that will hopefully serve as a template for similar applications in the future.
