Our job is to ensure the reliability of one of the most complex internet businesses in the world, reaching 99.99+% availability of Alibaba web properties including Taobao Marketplace, Tmall.com, Alibaba Cloud Computing (Aliyun), Alibaba.com and AliExpress. Based on large-scale distributed systems, we design and implement global infrastructure and service to provide vital support to Alibaba‘s own ecosystem and propel the nation’s economic growth as well.

ALIBABA GROUP WAS FOUNDED IN 1999 BY 18 PEOPLE LED BY JACK MA, a former English teacher from Hangzhou, China. Our founders started our company to champion small businesses, in the belief that the Internet would level the playing field by enabling small enterprises to leverage innovation and technology to grow and compete more effectively in the domestic and global economies.
