Septiembre llega con un nuevo Meetup en Alicante Frontend y es, como siempre, otro de esos que no te puedes perder.
Webpack, Rollup, Parcel, esbuild, Vite, Turbopack, Rspack… cada pocos años aparece un bundler nuevo que promete arreglar lo que el anterior hacía mal. Los usamos todos los días, pero pocas veces nos paramos a pensar por qué existen, qué problema venía a resolver cada uno y qué hemos aprendido por el camino.
Esta vez contamos con Néstor López: ingeniero de infraestructura en Zephyr Cloud, mantiene Rspack y Module Federation. Centrado sobre todo a tooling de frontend y arquitectura, con especial interés en rendimiento y diseño de sistemas.
Néstor viene a darnos repaso por la historia de los bundlers, desde los primeros scripts concatenados a mano hasta Rspack, para entender cómo hemos llegado hasta aquí y hacia dónde va el tooling.

September brings a new Alicante Frontend Meetup, and as always, it's one you can't miss.
Webpack, Rollup, Parcel, esbuild, Vite, Turbopack, Rspack… every few years a new bundler shows up promising to fix what the previous one got wrong. We use them every day, but we rarely stop to think about why they exist, what problem each one was built to solve, and what we've learned along the way.
That's what Néstor is coming to talk about: a journey through the history of bundlers, from the first hand-concatenated scripts to Rspack, to understand how we got here and where tooling is heading.
