Oracle APEX Integrated Framework for Document Querying with Retrieval-Augmented

Session Abstract:
As digital data expands across industries, enterprises face increasing challenges in searching, retrieving, and understanding information hidden within large document repositories. Traditional keyword-based search methods often fail to capture the semantic context, leading to irrelevant or incomplete results—an issue that is especially critical for operational efficiency, compliance, and informed decision-making. This paper presents "Ask My Document," an AI-powered document querying solution that leverages Oracle Database 23ai and integrates seamlessly with Oracle APEX. The system combines AI vector search, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and ONNX-based deep learning models to enable context-aware, semantic search beyond simple keyword matching. Oracle Database 23ai handles vector storage, indexing, and inference, while Oracle APEX provides a low-code platform for building the user interface. We describe the system architecture, implementation, and experimental results, demonstrating significant improvements in retrieval relevance, accuracy, and usability. This approach represents an important advancement in enterprise information access, providing a more intuitive and efficient user experience.
