What we’re about
This community is about all things Blockchain. The Blockchain ecosystem is large and moving fast, and there is so much information, that it is a full-time job to research and learn about all elements of the ecosystem.
This group will hold regular educational meetups diving into topics such as layer 1 & 2 projects, NFT, DEFI, staking, mining, and IoT devices and big data being used with Blockchain.
This group welcomes everyone, and we are NOT focused on promoting one particular project, we have strict rules of NO selling or token shilling. This community has been created to bring people together share knowledge and grow the ecosystem.
We are education-focused but believe networking and mingling with the community are also very important and will hold a mix of educational events as well as fun community events.
Our vision is to create a token-permissioned community meetup group that is owned by the community. Currently, some of our founding members are working on bringing this vision to life.
If you would like to become an official community organizer and contribute to providing education to the community, please contact us today.
Together we can grow and learn one node at a time.

See all- Weaponising the Blockchain: Securing Decentralised Systems with LabrysThe Precinct, Fortitude Valley
In-Person from 5:30 - Online from 6:30
Join us to hear from blockchain software expert, Taylor Scheel of Labrys, who will bring a technical deep dive into cybersecurity challenges in a decentralised world.
In this talk, Taylor will explore the unintended consequences of permissionless, decentralised, and censorship-resistant technologies—focusing on how they can be both powerful tools for good and potential weapons for harm. Using botnets as a key example, we’ll examine how blockchain technology can be leveraged in ways that may bypass traditional security measures, creating new challenges in cybersecurity.
Beyond that, we’ll dive into an emerging concern: the risks of placing AI agents on blockchains. While decentralisation offers resilience and trust minimisation, it may also introduce novel attack vectors that could be exploited in unpredictable ways. Through real-world case studies and speculative scenarios, this talk will challenge the audience to think critically about how we design and secure decentralised systems—because, like nuclear power, these technologies hold the potential for both incredible benefits and unforeseen dangers.
Details:
- 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM: Networking session with food and drinks
- 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM: Online Segment Starts 6:30pm - Presentation, Q&A
- 7:30 PM – Late: Networking at The Prince Consort Hotel (230 Wickham St, Fortitude Valley)
