With DevOps being such an important topic and "top-of-mind" for many today we thought we'd feature a world-class speaker for the March meetup.

*Please note:

  1. The event will "open" in Zoom at 11:30 am ET, but programming won't officially begin until 12 noon. From 11:30 am - 12 noon we'll engage in small-talk and welcome everyone as they join, and we'll help our speaker prepare (camera/microphone check, etc.).
  2. The event is 100% free, but registration is required. You can register here - https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_5uwm6YGERG-L5zfD46C0HA

Topic: Continuously Awesome: Using Jenkins to Build, Deploy, and Automate

Speaker: Valarie Regas, DevOps Engineer - Airbus Defence & Space
https://2020.allthingsopen.org/speakers/valarie-regas/

Bio:
Valarie Regas is a DevOps fanatic, full-stack developer, a Georgia Tech coding bootcamp graduate, and a veteran mommy. She holds a BA in Psychology and currently works as a DevOps Engineer. After years being a stay-at-home mom, she decided to change her life by entering tech, and has learned a lot along the way. In addition to DevOps, she enjoys mixed martial arts fighting, table-top role playing games, public speaking, creating tiny humans, and activism of all sorts.

Abstract:
Jenkins is one of the more popular open source automation servers used when a company is looking to adopt a DevOps culture. During this session, we’ll cover the basics of setting up a project, configuration options, and ways to customize Jenkins to fit your specific needs.

As usual "official" programming will begin at 12 noon EDT and is scheduled to wrap up no later than 1:00 pm. It's possible we'll go over just a bit, but the goal is to keep things at an hour.

Finally, we'll give away ATO hats and shirts at this meetup, as always.

Contact the ATO team with questions at info@allthingsopen.org.
