We're thrilled to return to in-person meetups after 18 months of virtual-only programming!

Also, this meetup will be live streamed for a virtual audience as well. We fully understand not everyone feels comfortable with in-person.

For in-person:
Eventbrite registration will be required before arriving/upon arrival here - https://www.eventbrite.com/e/all-things-open-rtp-meetup-sept-2021-tickets-166532682737.

Also, enhanced COVID-19 protocols in place onsite for this event, as described here - https://2021.allthingsopen.org/covid-19-policy-updates/. These include an indoor mask/face covering requirement, a temperature check and brief health screening questions (3-4), and a proof of vaccine/negative test requirement. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience, but safety is a top concern.

For virtual attendees:
Registration will be required in Zoom here - https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_aMQAEZlhSoSnyn9Jh0aReg

Registration for both formats is 100% free - only a quick and easy registration is required.

Also, we'd like to thank our awesome sponsor Camunda (https://camunda.com/) for making the meetup possible. They're sponsoring All Things Open in October also - they're FANTASTIC.

Topic: It's painful how much data rules the world

Abstract:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) needs data. AI needs a lot of data. However, data is hard and painful; it does not have to be this way.

In this packed session, I will teach you how to build a complete data pipeline, from raw data to AI. I will apply data quality rules. I will be using Apache Spark, Java, real-life datasets, and advanced Machine Learning (ML) techniques.

This talk will be about data, but it will also include many tips, knowledge bytes, and boring theory (finally) made palatable.

Join us for an evening of learning and fun!

Takeaways:
• Building an efficient modern data pipeline.
• Understanding the vocabulary of modern & cloud data platforms.

Audience:
• Software & data engineers.
• Software & data architects.
• Technical leads & managers.
• Product owners.

Questions can be directed to the ATO team at info@allthingsopen.org

**This meetup will be recorded and posted to our YouTube channel for later viewing, for those that miss the live event. https://www.youtube.com/c/AllThingsOpen
