Weather Dependant Event - If the weather is poor (rainy, too cloudy, etc) I will move this event to the next public viewing night, May 9th.

Come check out the James C. Veen Observatory for their first public viewing night of the year!

What to Expect: After parking, we will meet at the ticket table. From there, there will be a 1/4 mile walk up a hill to the observatory. The observatory will have their telescopes trained on deep sky objects. This event will feature the Moon, Jupiter, and various star clusters, nebulas, and galaxies.

Cost: $5 ticket paid on arrival. They take cash and card (cash is quicker and easier)

Parking: There is ample parking on location (lawn). The observatory is off a rural road. It is very dark, there will be a person to guide you to the entrance and to a parking spot.

Memorial Day - Expect holiday traffic and crowds

The Deck is a great Muskegon concert venue that sits on the beach of Lake Michigan. Relax (or dance) in the sand with food and drinks while local bands play nearly everyday in the summer.

Join me on May 25th to see Hello Weekend! A Chicago based band with an amazing lead singer and captivating stage presence as they play everything from Gaga to Guns N' Roses, Bruno Mars to The Beach Boys.

What to Bring: I will try to grab some picnic tables, but seating is limited, bring your own lawn chair good to be used in the sand to sit on.

What to Expect: When you arrive, you can go to the entrance they will check your ID and stamp your hand. You can find me in the venue to save your spot. If you are interested in food there is a walk up booth for you to order just outside of the venue. You can order food there and they will text you when it's ready to pick up. Drinks available at walk up booths inside the venue.

Cost: No ticket fee to the event

Parking: The main parking available is a large city owned lot at the venue typically meant for beach goers. This is paid parking (card only). There are parking kiosks scattered about where you can pay and get a ticket to put in your windshield. They are very slow!
