Learn how to use our CNC router and take home a small example of your work!

Our CNC router is able to cut many 2D shapes our of wood and some other materials. Here are some examples of projects you can make: https://carbide3d.com/shapeoko/#why

Completing this class will also start you on the path of becoming qualified to independently operate the CNC router at All Hands Active.

You'll learn the basics of making a simple design, setting toolpaths for the machine to cut, preparing the machine to route and then routing out your piece. You'll also learn how to avoid common pitfalls.

Optional: after the class, you may set up a date to return to demonstrate that you can confidently operate the All Hands Active CNC router yourself.

Due to limited capacity, there is a non-refundable $5 fee to hold your spot for this class. Please be mindful of the instructor's time, and of others who wish to take this class: only sign up for a spot if you actually plan on attending. You can pay this fee after RSVPing by using the donate button at https://allhandsactive.org/donate.

If you find the class to be helpful or interesting, a suggested donation of $25 for the general public, and $15 for current All Hands Active members will help us continue to provide quality training on reliable, well-maintained machines. You can always donate online beforehand (https://allhandsactive.org/pay -- please leave a note in the donation that it was for this class), or in person with cash!
