Monthly Mending
Details
Free public mending advice service! Bring in a mend-able fabric item, we'll help you learn how to mend it. We cannot guarantee repairs are possible. You are expected to remain with your items.
We offer advice for beginner- to intermediate-level mending for clothing, winter wear, and linens, including (but not limited to):
- Most holes & tears in fabric
- Some holes & tears in leather
- Some bag / purse / briefcase repairs
- Broken zippers
- Lost / loose buttons & frayed buttonhole repairs
We have plenty of tools and materials to help you with your mending! You may need to supply some of your own materials (like zippers).
This is a free service, but donations are welcome! We are a non-profit organization and your donations help us provide services, classes, materials, and tools to the Ann Arbor Community.
Please Note:
- This is not a drop-off mending service. We don't have the experience level or volunteer capacity to offer such a service.
- You are expected to take an active role in mending your items. You must remain with your items and take them with you when you leave.
- We cannot guarantee solutions or take liability for damage. We'll do our best to help, but we are not professionals.
