Roll 8:45 am // Distance 20+ miles // Elevation 2,500+ feet

NOTE: There is a fair amount of exposure during the first several miles of Upper SART, but otherwise, the trail is not especially technical or steep.

SART, aka the Santa Ana River Trail, is an epic mountain biking adventure located near Angelus Oaks in the San Bernardino National Forest. It offers a perfect mix of smooth, flowing singletrack and technical challenges, all with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and river. Expect a mix of climbs, descents, and diverse terrain, all while riding through picturesque forests, and rugged canyons.

SART is one of my favorite trails in SoCal!

ADVANCED BLUE RIDE
You have a strong understanding and practice of braking, shifting, cornering, and descending skills. You can navigate variable terrain at a good pace. You are confident and comfortable riding singletrack trails and can easily navigate roots, rocks, mud, sand, and creek crossings. You are capable of a front-wheel and rear-wheel lift, and can put the two together to navigate over obstacles. You are fairly confident on steep climbs and descents, but you may walk sections on Black or Double Black trails.

BIKING ESSENTIALS
Please bring your own biking essential needs like tools, pump, hydration pack, chain link, gloves, energy gel/bar, snacks, camera, and most importantly, a HELMET. Knee and elbow pads are NOT required, but can offer some peace of mind and extra protection.
