What to Expect

The Life Time Sea Otter Classic is a “celebration of cycling”! It’s a festival for anyone who enjoys or appreciates the bicycle and outdoor adventures. Whether a cyclist or a spectator, folks of all ages can share in the excitement and camaraderie of the Sea Otter Classic. If you love the idea of being part of a cool scene with active people who all share a passion for bicycles and the outdoors—come! Sea Otter is for road, gravel and mountain bikers. It’s for kids, commuters and recreational cyclists, and, yes, the Sea Otter Classic draws the very best racers—both amateurs and pros. No other event gives you such up-close access to your cycling heroes

You have a strong and practice with the skills of braking, shifting, cornering, and descending. You are able to navigate variable terrain at a good pace. You are confident and comfortable riding singletrack trails and can easily navigate roots, rocks, mud, sand, and creek crossings. You are capable of a front wheel and rear wheel lift and can put the two together to navigate over obstacles. You are fairly confident on steep climbs and descents, but you may walk sections on trails that are rated Black or Double Black.

If you are new to AMTR, please bring a signed and completed waiver to the ride for the ride leader or email it to: amtr.meetup@gmail.com. You will be asked to sign a Waiver if you do not have one on file with us. If you refuse to sign, you cannot join the meetup event.

BIKING ESSENTIALS
Please bring your own biking essential needs like tools, pump, hydration pack, chain link, gloves, energy gel/bar, snacks, camera, and most importantly a HELMET. Knee and elbow pads are NOT required but are suitable for extra protection.
