🚴 04/02 THURS 9:00 AM | DRY CREEK TRAILS (SEDONA) | ADVANCED BLUE 🚴
Details
Roll 11:00am // Distance 15+ miles // Elevation 1,500+ feet
The Dry Creek trails in West Sedona are a great introduction to riding in Sedona. The area is more XC-oriented and less technical (at least for Sedona) than the other major trail systems (sans the Adobe Jack trails). This is my favorite intermediate ride in Sedona combining Chuck Wagon, Mescal, Canyon of Fools, Aerie, etc. to create an epic ride with stellar views and several different types of terrain. The area is also home to Devil’s Bridge, the most popular hike in Sedona, so make sure to get an early start because parking is a pain.
ADVANCED BLUE
You have a strong understanding and practice with the skills of braking, shifting, cornering, and descending. You are able to navigate variable terrain at a good pace. You are confident and comfortable riding singletrack trails and can easily navigate roots, rocks, mud, sand, and creek crossings. You are capable of a front wheel and rear wheel lift and can put the two together to navigate over obstacles. You are fairly confident on steep climbs and descents, but you may walk sections on trails that are rated Black or Double Black.
