đźš´ 04/02 THURS 9:00 AM | THE HOGS! (SEDONA) | BLACK đźš´
Details
Distance 15+ miles // Elevation 1,500+ feet
Meetup won’t let me post a location, but we will be meeting up at the Little Horse trailhead.
NOTE: Sedona miles are no ordinary miles! Due to the combination of rugged terrain, rocky technical sections, and frequent elevation changes, a single mile in Sedona can feel like 1.5–2 miles elsewhere. The term is a nod to the extra effort required to navigate the challenging trails, particularly when the climbs are steep, the rocks are chunky, and the descents demand precision. You should be prepared for these “extra tough” miles and pace yourself accordingly.
Day 2 and while we still have fresh legs we’ll jump right in to one of Sedona’s most famous trails, and one of the big 3 (now 4) “H” trails. The Hogs!!!
High on the hog - Hogheaven - and Hogwash. We will start from the Little Horse trailhead and make our way up to the famous “Chicken Point” where we can mingle with the tourists taking the pink jeep tours and look up to see the famous “White Line” trail. We will then head down Broken Arrow to the beginning of the 3 Hogs. The Hog trails are very challenging technical riding with a lot of exposure. They are rated double black for a reason. We will take it slow and I will definitely be walking a few sections, but please take a minute and watch a few videos on YT so you know what to expect. These aren’t the trails that you want to be stuck pushing a heavy ebike on.
After the three hogs we will make our way back to Broken Arrow and complete the loop with a fun descent down Little Horse back to the parking area.
