(Dutch below) The Almere Tech Meetup is all about sharing inspiration around new technology and everything related to digital innovation. Each month (on the third Thursday), we invite a speaker to talk about an innovative technology or a current project. There’s also plenty of opportunity to connect and engage in informal conversations.
We warmly welcome all tech enthusiasts and digital pioneers from Almere and the surrounding area to join our event, hosted at the WonderBit office, right in the heart of Almere.
Come by for a drink and a bite, meet new people, and share your ideas and inspiration!

De Almere Tech Meetup draait om het delen van inspiratie rond nieuwe technologie en alles wat met digitalisering te maken heeft. Tijdens elke bijeenkomst (de 3e donderdag van de maand) nodigen we een spreker uit die vertelt over een innovatieve technologie of een actueel project. Daarnaast is er volop ruimte om in een informele sfeer met elkaar in gesprek te gaan. We verwelkomen alle techliefhebbers en digitale pioniers uit Almere en omgeving om deel te nemen aan ons evenement, dat plaatsvindt op het kantoor van WonderBit, midden in het centrum van Almere.
Kom langs voor een drankje en een hapje, maak kennis met andere mensen en deel jouw ideeën en inspiratie!

Three years after the introduction of ChatGPT, large language models, or AI, continue to capture the imagination. Many organizations are looking for smart ways to apply the technology. While not every problem requires an AI solution, there are also specific applications that were previously impossible.
Schrijf Simpel, an application that helps writers create texts in simple and clear language, is an example of what is possible. In this session, you will hear how AI is applied in Schrijf Simpel and what considerations the Schrijf Simpel team made for this. You will also learn about the (common) challenges they encountered and how they deal with them, and you will gain insight into what an LLM actually is, and what it is not.We’re excited to have Hugo Visser, an engaged member of the Almere Tech community, share his experiences as part of the Schrijf Simpel team with us. Hugo is the Main Robot at Little Robots and co-founder of Stichting Lees Simpel, a non-profit that aims to support people in developing self-reliance and participation through social software and social design projects.

Randstad 22 12, Almere, FL, NLLayer by layer: building a 3D dream
About ten years ago, Niels van Ingen's father bought a 3D printer. He had no idea that small machine would ignite his passion for 3D design. At fourteen, he discovered Blender and was immediately hooked. Five years later, he co-founded a design and animation studio (EZEE Media) with his best friend, which he still runs today.Shortly after his seventeenth birthday, he bought his first personal 3D printer. He spent countless hours upgrading, repairing, and experimenting. That’s when he knew: one day, he wanted his own print farm and a product to call his own.
He took on small jobs, like printing parts for a jukebox, and reinvested the earnings into second-hand printers, each with different technologies and speeds, allowing him to learn as much as possible.
The real breakthrough came with the purchase of a Bambu Lab printer. For the first time, he could produce something of truly high quality.
After more than a year of prototyping 3D-printed photo frames, he developed the concept into something bigger: a lamp, made through photo lithography and 3D printing.
And that’s where he is today, at the point where his early dream of creating a product on his own print farm is finally becoming reality.
