What we’re about
🦘🌸 ✨ALOHA SYDNEY – MAKE FRIENDS & PRACTICE LANGUAGE🦘🌸 ✨
Welcome to our community Practise languages, swap travel stories, and meet people from all over the world—all in one relaxed evening.
### 📆WHEN & WHERE
Every Wednesday, Friday & Saturday (see event for exact venue).
Doors open 6 PM and you can come anytime you like!
### 🎟️ ENTRY
$5 at the door (cash or card).
### 🌏 HOW IT WORKS
- Check-in: Grab flag stickers for the languages you speak or want to learn.
- Meet & Mingle: Hosts introduce solo guests to groups no one stands alone.
- Extra Fun: Stay for karaoke, dancing, or head off with your new crew.
***
### 💖 WOMEN-LED & SAFETY FIRST
- Female-Founded & Hosted: Aloha is the only Sydney language exchange started—and still run by a woman. Most events have a female host on duty all night.
- Buddy Bands: Ask at check-in to be paired with another woman or mixed group for your first hour.
- One-Strike Ban: We have banned many people over the years and are not afraid to ban anyone who makes others feel uncomfortable.
- Quiet Reporting: DM @alohasydney on Instagram or message an admin in our whatsapp group.
***
### 🌸COMMUNITY CODE
- Respect the vibe: This is friend-making, not speed-dating, not pick up practice. No exceptions.
- Look out for each other: If something feels off, tell a host or bar staff.
- Celebrate all voices: Every level, accent, and culture is welcome.
- Support the venue: Grab a drink or snack to keep these nights alive.

Bring your curiosity, a phrase you’re practising, and your best smile - we’ll handle the rest. See you soon for languages, laughter, and genuine connections! 🌺

…plus afterparty 😍
Why come?
- Practise languages in real life — swap English, and any other language with travellers and locals.
- Break the ice over board games — Jenga, UNO, Cards Against Humanity, and other quick-to-learn games are on every table.
- Make genuine friends — most guests arrive solo; our hosts introduce you so nobody’s left standing awkwardly.
- Finish on the dance floor — from 10 pm we clear the tables, turn up the beats and dance till late.
