What we’re about

Aloha ʻĀina Day at the Nation of Hawaiʻi is a volunteer restoration event held at Puʻuhonua o Waimānalo, aimed at caring for ʻāina through restoring loʻi (taro terraces) and removing invasive plants at the top of the ahupuaʻa. More than just environmental work, it’s an opportunity to deepen understanding of Hawaiian sovereignty and cultural connection, to walk the land, and to honor the ancestral systems that link people to ʻāina and place.
