Elixir Meetup with OUDL, The Prequel! (A basics workshop)

Details
Kyle Oba and I (Chris) are putting together a simple workshop, with hands-on exercises. This is a another joint meetup with OUDL (https://www.meetup.com/dynamic/events/224955265/) We just want to spread the joy of Elixir all over the place. It's time for our first, hands-on Elixir workshop. We'll be going through some live-coding exercises designed to show off the uniqueness of Elixir.
Bring your computer, because you'll have an opportunity to write some Elixir yourself. Once you have a feel for the syntax, we'll tackle progressively more interesting problems, and discuss the results.
The format will be a short intro, including:
• Basic Syntax
• Functions
• Recursion
• Pattern Matching
Followed by some live-coding to convey syntax. Then, a series of hands-on exercises that you'll code in groups, or by yourself. Lively discussion of Elixir interspersed and following.
Hope to see you there.

"Elixir is a dynamic, functional language designed for building scalable and maintainable applications.
Elixir leverages the Erlang VM, known for running low-latency, distributed and fault-tolerant systems, while also being successfully used in web development and the embedded software domain."
