Ever wondered what it would feel like to finally put your ideas on the page? Curious to explore your voice, try out new forms, and just…write?

I’m Ellee Achten -- a Portland-based multi-medium artist, writer, and creative instructor (MA in Creative Nonfiction, MFA in Fiction) -- and I’d love to guide you through this 6-week online workshop. We’ll explore creative nonfiction essays, memoir, short stories, novel starts, and flash-length writing in a supportive, low-pressure space. Unlike many other online workshops, I keep these workshops small with only 10 spots to make sure everyone gets the focused time they need.

In this workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to:

• Experiment with writing prompts and exercises to spark imagination
• Explore the differences and nuances between genres
• Practice voice, tone, and style across multiple forms
• Dive into structure, form, point of view, and tense to strengthen your writing
• Participate in optional reading sessions to share work and get inspired
• Join optional peer-workshop sessions with submitted pieces for feedback
• Receive line-level feedback from Ellee on two of your pieces
• Connect with a community of fellow writers

By the end of six weeks, you’ll have several pieces of your own writing, hands-on experience experimenting with multiple forms, and personalized guidance to strengthen your craft and bring your ideas fully to the page.
