MT. FALCON PARK HIKE: SEVERAL OVERLOOKS & HISTORIC SITES!

MT. FALCON PARK, KITTREDGE, CO.
DISTANCE/GAIN: 6 miles RT with 1,020 ft. total elevation gain topping out at the summit of Mt. Falcon at 7,851 ft. (Level: moderate). There are amazing views and gorgeous scenery throughout the park! The planned route is Castle-Tower-Meadow-Old Ute-Devil's Elbow-Old Ute-Meadow to Walker's Castle. Historic sites at the park include the ruins of John Brisben Walker’s castle, and the cornerstone of a would-be summer White House for U.S. Presidents. There is also a wooden tower, situated along Tower Trail, which visitors can climb to enjoy the magnificent views.
DIRECTIONS:
From Denver, take Hwy. 285 South to the Parmalee Gulch/Indian Hills exit. Follow this road approximately 2 1/2 miles to Picutis Road and turn right. Follow the signs along Picutis Road to Mt. Falcon Park. We'll meet at the upper parking lot (you'll drive through the lower lot first).
