Cycle - Banff - Train Station to Johnston Canyon

We will meet in Banff for 9am and park at the free parking lot/Train Station. Look for a blue truck with a toolbox first three letters of thr plate if GFY.

We will cycle on Hwy 1A which is closed to all motorized vehicles and head towards Johnston Canyon. The trail, there and back is 56km.

This event is not for road racers or fast cyclists who want to get to the end point and back in 3 hrs. Also, not for Nakamura type bikes or any heavy bicycle. You will struggle to keep up.

This will be an exploration cycle, a full and scenic day out on two wheels with a picnic lunch where ever we make it, if it isn't Johnston Canyon, but I am determined. This event is a relaxed pace for strong beginnerd or intermediate cyclists at a slow pace.

Along the way you will have mountain views, wildlife lookouts and plenty of spots to stop and take photos.

You must be able to transport your own bike if you prefer to drive solo or can car pool others as I can only take two extra passengers. HELMETS are MANDATORY!

We will return to Banff on the same route.
