Walthamstow walk & God's Own Junkyard

Alt Ladies go exploring!

We will be visiting the quirky God's Own Junkyard. This is an alt place in Walthamstow which is an art gallery, café, neon sign workshop and visitor attraction. Here is their website: https://www.godsownjunkyard.co.uk

Here is the plan for the day:

1. Meet at Seven Sisters tube at 12.30 pm.
2. Walthamstow Wetlands walk.
3. The Coppermill Pump House. This has been a mill since the 14th Century and became a Pump House in 1859. We can climb up the tower which gives a great view of the wetlands.
4. Walthamstow Cemetary - it is called the Sinking Cemetary as some graves have sunk into the ground.
5. Ancient House - this is a 15th Centuary house.
6. Wood Street Indoor Market (closes at 5.30pm).
7. God's Own Junkyard.
8. Mother's Ruin gin pub.
9. The Nag's Head for food (this pub has been recommended by one of our members). This pub serves burgers and pizza for about £12 - £15 a meal.
10. End at Walthamstow Central tube.
