ok guys and gals...
this one is going to be a little different than the last one.
more gravel, less pavement, all forest.
and we will actually make coffee outside this time, at an absolutely killer spot on the wambaw creek in the national forest. i have spent a ton of time at this spot camping and hiking so pretty familiar with the area.

we will meet at the junction of hwy 45 and forest service road 211 aka 'mill branch road' in McClellanville. (33°08'09.3"N 79°30'58.8"W)
parking is available off to the side of 211.
(i will notify the rangers office that we will be leaving vehicles there for a few hours)
it's not a ton of miles, and it's dead flat, but it's beautiful and serene and we likely wont see many vehicles, if any, as it's all forest roads and it won't be hunting season then.
plan is to ride at a slightly sped up party pace to the wambaw still landing for a coffee break and hang out for an hour or so then ride back to our vehicles.
if there's time, and everyone is game, i would like to explore a few of the short cuts and paths along that route as well.

we're probably looking at 2 hours total of riding and maybe an hour of hanging out.
these forest roads are a mix of crusher run, limestone, and #57 gravel and can vary from loose and chunky to well packed and fine. anything over 40c with some grip and lower pressures are recommended for this one.

i will have basic repair tools on my bike and much more comprehensive stuff in my vehicle, should anyone have any issues.

please note: if it's over 60 degrees the bugs can be awful in the forest so bring your deet and/or picardin. also there is nothing out there.. no stores, nothing. so bring a snack and plenty of water, and of course some way to brew and a vessel for drinking coffee outside!
