AVS & Friends partner with the City of Bowie for our 5th Annual Cycling Event:
Juneteenth Ride & Jubilee
When: June 14th, 2025
Meetup Beginning at: 815am
Rollout: 9:15am
Where: Bowie Town Center (Launch Point will be the parking lot outside of Five Guys)

Our favorite DJ and partner, DJ Battle, will be on the turntables to support announcements and to send us off with early morning tunes.

The Juneteenth Jubilee will be held directly after our cycling event on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Allen Pond Park from 11am- 5pm.

Bowie Town Center has requested that participants park in the designated areas near Five Guys.

SAG INFORMATION:
This IS a SAG supported Ride.
Please bring $5 exact change or CashApp $ZOAROO.
The SAG phone numbers will be given at the pre-ride briefing.
Why do we have SAG?
Zoaroo SAG will help you ride on or get you and your bikes back to your vehicles in case you have mechanical problems; medical issues; feeling fatigued, or if you biked off more than you can do.
Zoaroo also comes along the route with us cautioning motorists to beware of cyclists.

Juneteenth Jubilee Celebration
The City of Bowie also invites YOU to participate in our exciting citywide Juneteenth Jubilee Festival at Allen Pond Park on Saturday, June 14, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. immediately after the ride..
There will be several activation areas at the festival:

  • Sip and Taste Square (Food and Beverages)
  • Market Place (Marketplace Goods) - VENDORS STILL NEEDED
  • Artist Ave (Painting, sculpture, books, film, dance, etc.)
  • Be Healthy Way (Physical and mental health vendors) - VENDORS STILL NEEDED
  • College and Divine Nine Row (Colleges, sororities, fraternities, social and civic organizations)
  • Kid’s Zone (Kid friendly sports, games, activities)
    With over 13,000 attendees last year, this is the perfect opportunity to showcase your business, talent, or organization to our lively and engaged community. Don’t miss your chance to join in on the fun and excitement!

1. Safety first

2. Bicyclists who participate on any AVS hosted or partner supported rides are required to wear a properly fastened helmet.

3. Bicyclists may not ride more than two (2) abreast and may not impede traffic.

4. Bicyclists must come to a complete stop at all stop signs and traffic lights displaying a red signal.
5. Bicyclists are expected to have their bikes in proper working order.

6. Bicyclists are expected to ride with repair equipment in the event for flat tire, etc.
7. Bicyclists should bring adequate nutrition to include enough hydration and snacks.

8. At night, bicycles must be equipped with a front white light and a rear red reflector or red light visible, both visible from 600 feet away.
