Salsa Classes for Beginners to Advanced Dancers

Beginner Salsa Classes in Silver Spring
Our beginner salsa dance classes are designed to help you build a solid foundation in Cuban-style salsa. Each session starts with fundamental footwork exercises to help you move confidently to the rhythm. You'll then transition into partner dancing and eventually experience the excitement of group salsa dancing (Rueda de Casino).
No partner? No problem! We rotate partners in class to help you develop strong lead and follow techniques, adapt to different styles, and boost your confidence on the dance floor.

Intermediate & Advanced Salsa Training
As you progress, you’ll learn salsa shines, advanced partner techniques, and intricate group dance challenges. Our goal is to make dancing feel as natural and effortless as breathing while helping you refine your style and musicality.
Performance Team – Take Your Skills to the Stage!
For dancers ready to take their passion to the next level, our performance team classes prepare students to perform on stage with confidence. Designed for intermediate dancers, these sessions help you:
✔️ Master choreography and stage presence
✔️ Improve synchronization and timing
✔️ Gain experience performing in front of live audiences
Commitment: Selected team members must attend rehearsals once or twice a week to ensure high-quality performances.

Meet Our Passionate Instructors

Ashu – Founder & Lead Instructor
Born and raised in Ethiopia, Ashu developed a love for dance at a young age, inspired by the rich cultural diversity of his home country. After years of dancing, he started teaching in 2009, sharing his passion for Latin dance in Maryland. His mission is to create an inclusive dance space where everyone can embrace movement and self-expression.
"The fusion of Ethiopian traditional dance and Latin dance has been my inspiration. I strive to advance a more inclusive and artistic dance future." – Ashu

Sara – Instructor
Originally from Portugal, Sara has been teaching salsa in Portugal, Guinea-Bissau, and Timor-Leste for over a decade. Alongside her passion for dance, she is also dedicated to human rights work. After moving to Silver Spring, she found a thriving salsa community and now enjoys helping others grow in their dance journey.

Carmen – Instructor
Hailing from Spain, Carmen has been teaching salsa and bachata for over eight years. Known for her enthusiasm and engaging teaching style, she brings a unique perspective to dance by incorporating physics into dance technique explanations.
"Physics: It works!" – Carmen’s famous catchphrase, proving that dance is both an art and a science!
