Hike to Blue Hole, Salt Springs Reservoir

Details
This is a nice hike along the north shore of Salt Springs Reservoir, which lies in Amador Countys very own version of a Yosemite Valley, with picturesque granite cliffs and waterfalls.
I would consider this a moderate 10-mile roundtrip hike. The trail gently undulates as you hike past beautiful views of the reservoir and the Mokelumne River towards Blue Hole cascades. As we approach the overlook of Blue Hole, we will encounter some scrambling up and over some open granite. There are a couple of creek crossings along the way, and you'll want to be prepared for a possible wet creek crossing.
The Reservoir is at 4,000 ft elevation, and current temperatures should be moderate. However, the hike is along a south facing slope, which tends to the warmer side. Plenty of water is advised.
Don't forget- the hat, sunscreen, bug juice, plenty of water, snacks and good hiking boots.
