7:30 Guest speaker will be Michael Mamola. Michael will be discussing Angling Opportunities close to home, with an emphasis on Higher Elevation Waters.
Michael is an Environmental Scientist with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife's (CDFW) Heritage and Wild Trout Program. Michael has worked with the CDFW since 2006, where he was first employed to aid in fisheries assessments of the West Delta and San Francisco Bay systems. Between 2006 and 2024 he has worked on a number of different projects such as Chinook Salmon surveys in the Central Valley, Aquatic Invasive Species monitoring, fisheries projects on Lake Tahoe, and trout evaluations of the North Central Region. While in school, Michael was a student of both the social sciences and fish and wildlife management, completing a MS studying dynamics of the Lake Tahoe sportfishery. He currently sits on the CDFW's Disability Advisory Committee, where he works to create and promote fishing opportunities in the North Central Region that are accessible to all anglers. In his spare time Michael can be found fishing the many Bass and Trout fisheries of the Central Valley foothills and high Sierras. Michael will be discussing Fisheries Management and Angling Opportunities in the North Central Region, with an emphasis on Higher Elevation Waters.
