Please join us for Sarah and Brad's Horrible Hike.
We will be doing repeats of Rock Garden, with a maximum of 5 repeats. Do as many or few as you like.
The Rock Garden Trail starts at the bottom of the canyon and ascends all the way to the rim, with about 600 feet of elevation gain over 2.5 miles. With a round trip total of 5 miles, completing all of the hikes equates to 25 miles of hiking! Sounds horrible, right?
Please bring plenty of water, something to eat, and dress according to the forecast. One benefit to doing this particular hike is that you will be able to stock back up on water and food every time you make it to the bottom, allowing you to not carry so much with you.
We will meet at The Sad Monkey Mercantile at 6:30 AM and head into the park at 6:45 AM or when everyone shows up, whichever happens first. If you decide not to come or will be late, please let us know.
If you have not already signed the one-time hold harmless agreement, please message the host and one will be emailed to you. There will also be an opportunity to sign one before the hike.
If you have a park pass and are willing to take other hikers with you into the park, please let us know.
This will be one of the last events posted on Meetup. We are moving all future hikes to our facebook group page. If you have not already joined, please do so to ensure you are notified of posted events.
