Brand Storytelling Success from a Tampa Institution
Did you know that the four-year-old restaurant Ulele is one of the hottest restaurants in the country (according to OpenTable diners)? Or that the original 1905 Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City holds 1,700 seats and books more than 1,400 groups and banquets annually? And would also you be surprised if we told you that the company that owns these restaurants does not have a budget for traditional advertising? For us marketing professionals, this seems rather unusual, perhaps even radical. But the Columbia Restaurant Group has implemented a brand-awareness strategy that is definitely working for the ultra-successful, family-owned restaurants – now owned and operated by the fourth- and fifth-generation descendants of the founder. As marketers, we understand the importance of storytelling. But the Columbia Restaurant Group takes storytelling to a new level. Learn the approach that the Columbia Restaurant Group uses to stand out to win hearts, minds and stomachs. In this keynote luncheon, attendees will learn how to structure a long-term storytelling plan using the social platforms we are all well aware of: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc. In addition, attendees will learn how these restaurants embrace experience marketing and reputation monitoring in person and online. Come join The AMA Tampa Bay for our July keynote speaker, Michael Kilgore, chief marketing officer of the Columbia Restaurant Group. Kilgore will share his team's strategy to grow the Columbia Restaurant Group with a minimal budget for traditional advertising. Key Learnings: Grow revenue even with a low marketing budget.
