To the north of the cottonwood lakes basin there is a high point which I just found the name of, Woollyback. It should offer a fantastic view of the lakes and the nearby Cirque Peak and Mount Langley. The hike is fairly straightforward. We will start at the Cottonwood Lakes Trailhead at Horsehoe Meadows. From there we'll head north until the trailreaches the north side of Flat Top and begins to veer west. We then break off from the trail and keep climbing the steep rocky hillside to our north until reaching the top.
