West Knob is an unofficially named peak along the row of hills north of highway 58 and Cache Creek. Last year I climbed Middle and East Knobs and want to add West Knob to complete the set. There are some nice views of the backside of the hills that few people ever get to see.

We will meet where Cache Creek Blvd. meets the first dirt road west of the Los Angeles Aqueduct. Last year I hiked all the way from the desert floor and it was a fairly long hike but nothing too crazy. Virtually all of the hike will be on dirt roads or trails aside from perhaps a brief segment to scramble up to West Knob. If anyone tags along with a better off-roading vehicle we can shorten the distance quite a bit.
